Boyapati Srinu wrote and directed the action drama movie Akhanda, which will be released in 2021. Under the banner of Dwaraka Creations, Miryala Ravinder Reddy created it. Akhanda, which released on December 2, 2021, received varying reactions from critics and viewers. The movie’s soundtrack helped it become popular, and it went on to become a commercial success, earning over ₹ 120.8 crore worldwide and becoming the second-highest-grossing Telugu film of the year and the highest-grossing movie of Balakrishna’s career. At the 53rd International Film Festival of India, Akhanda was shown in the Indian Panorama mainstream category.

A wanted criminal named Gajendra Sahu is running from the police. Gajendra is shot by his own ammo and knocked into the river during a battle between Gajendra’s men and the cops. He succeeds in locating refuge in a temple with the help of a guru. Gajendra kills the guru and ascends to the position of temple priest.

Gajendra is currently a ruthless crime boss who controls illegal mining and organised crime in Andhra Pradesh. Ramachandraiah and his wife also receive the blessing of twins, one of whom is stillborn. Suddenly, an Aghora appears while the mother is sleeping and informs Ramachandraiah that the stillborn kid has a destiny that is not peaceful and leads to the annihilation of all evil.

While he is in deep meditation, the Aghora places the infant into the bag of another Aghora and rapidly departs. When a drop of holy water from the revolving gopuram touches the kid, who is deposited in the temple of Lord Shiva, the child comes to life. The kid is then reared by the Aghoras, grows up under the protection of Lord Shiva, and is given the name Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora. The other youngster becomes Murali Krishna as an adult.

Years later, Murali Krishna is a well-liked district leader in Anantapur who the populace looks up to when injustice hangs over them. Saranya Bachupally, a newly assigned DC, develops feelings for Murali Krishna when she learns of his passion and dedication to With the aid of his brother DSP Ranjan, Varadarajulu, a ruthless thug who tortures mining labourers for their labour, maintains relationships with dishonest government officials. Varadarajulu and his soldiers are confronted by Murali Krishna, who promises to defend the community.  

Varadarajulu meets Gajendra, who comes up with a scheme and places bombs inside the Murali Krishna hospital. Many hospital patients are killed by the explosion, including Central Minister A. Bharath Reddy. After that, NIA officer Krishnamacharya Perumal takes him into custody on suspicion of killing the minister.

Saranya and her unwell daughter are being pursued by Varadarajulu’s goons, who plan to kill them. When Saranya and her daughter escape into an old cave with a Lord Shiva temple, Akhanda, who is now alive, is there. an Aghora, endowed by Lord Shiva with superhuman abilities. Being a representation of Rudra, Akhanda destroys the thugs and defends Saranya and her daughter.

When Gajendra and Varadarajulu learn of this, they convince Ranjan and his men to murder Saranya, her daughter, and the rest of the family. However, when Akhanda shows up, he murders all the policemen except for Ranjan. Gajendra’s ritual is interrupted by Akhanda, who also cautions him by killing Ranjan. To slay Akhanda, Gajendra then travels to the Kapalik tantrik Prachanda.

In the meantime, Padmavati is discovered by Akhanda near a river, who revives her. Through the use of his yogic abilities, Akhanda learns that Gajendra had Padmavati slain and dumped into the river after Varadarajulu and Gajendra had learned that she intended to reveal their unlawful operations. Following his arrival at the mines and having witnessed everything through his mystic vision, Akhanda kills Varadarajulu and his soldiers.

When Perumal confronts Akhanda about his wrongdoings, Akhanda replies that anyone who upsets the natural order ought to be eliminated before leaving. Murali Krishna gets freed from prison when Perumal learns of his innocence.

Knowing that Akhanda will undoubtedly travel to Kasi and perform the Mrityunjay puja to release the kid and return her back to life, Gajendra and Prachanda come up with a trap and cast a cursed death spell upon Saranya’s daughter in order to kill Akhanda while he is carrying out the puja. The ceremony is started by Akhanda, but Gajendra and his soldiers break it up by brandishing swords. Akhanda endures the suffering and successfully completes the ceremony. The daughter of Saranya is revived.

Gajendra and his warriors are subjected to a barrage of destruction as Lord Shiva enters Akhanda and manifests him with powerful powers from Shiva. When Murali Krishna shows around, he joins Akhanda in the conflict. Gajendra is killed by Akhanda, who also beheads Prachanda.
